New Elementary Attendance Zone Sessions
As we plan for the opening of Tarvin Elementary School in August 2021 and the potential opening of ES 29 in August 2022, take a moment to review the new elementary attendance zone scenarios, register for a virtual town hall, and prepare for discussions.
Listening Sessions for Graduate Profile
We are reconsidering The Leander ISD Graduate Profile document, designed to set expectations for Leander ISD graduates. As a result, we are inviting our students, teachers, school staff, and families to weigh in during one of six virtual listening sessions. For more information and session registration, click here.
Bad Weather Make-Up Day
April 12 will be a regular school day to make up for the snow day on Jan. 11. Students need the minutes and staff contracts require employees to make up the time, therefore, we will use the bad weather makeup day allocated in our calendar. For our secondary students, this will be an A day.
National School Counseling Week and Mental Health Minute Launch
Leander ISD is proud to honor its more than 100 school counseling staff members throughout the district during National School Counseling Week, Feb. 1-5, 2021. The purpose of National School Counseling Week is to focus public attention on the unique contribution of school counselors, not only in Leander ISD, but in school systems throughout the United States. This effort will provide support for education, virtuality, information, and increased use of technology. We hope to create a bridge for all our multicultural students and parents who need resources in their own language. More information.
LISD’s Outstanding Musicians Make All-State
Leander ISD has placed 43 student-musicians in Texas Music Educators (TMEA) All-State Choir or Band. Congratulations on a job well done!
Celebrating LISD Midyear Retirees
Leander ISD celebrated its employees who retired during the mid-year break. Though we could not celebrate together, retirees received catered meals delivered personally from a fellow coworker. Some of our Board of Trustees offered a special message of gratitude and praise. Thank you to our retirees for your commitment to service.
Early Childhood Learning Opportunities Available to Families
We believe young children develop, learn, and thrive in a play-based environment rich in language, positive social interactions, and strong family partnerships. Leander ISD offers several opportunities for young children to learn. Learn more about our programs and services
8th Grade Students Learn about the IB Diploma Programme
The high school International Baccalaureate (IB) Diploma Programme (DP) is a rigorous, holistic college preparatory program designed to challenge students academically and encourage them to become lifelong learners. This spring, eighth-grade students at each middle school will learn about IB opportunities available in high school. More information about the IB Diploma Programme
SAT School Day, March 3
On March 3, 2021, the SAT will be given to Leander ISD 11th-grade students during the school day.
