Leander ISD is thrilled to announce Vincent Hawkins, J.D., as principal of Rouse High School after the Board confirmed his hiring to the position at Thursday night’s meeting.
“Mr. Hawkins is a proven leader whose success at Glenn High School has been marked by his authentic connection to students, staff and community. We are thrilled that he will be leading Rouse High School,” Superintendent Bruce Gearing, Ed.D., said. “Vincent brings instructional knowledge, innovation and sound operational management skills, along with the ability to continue developing Rouse’s strong culture. Please join me in welcoming Vincent to Rouse High School.”
Hawkins has served LISD since 2019, entering the district as an assistant principal at Glenn High School before moving into the role of associate principal in January 2022. Previously, he served in Georgetown ISD as an assistant principal at Georgetown High School. From 2010 to 2017, Hawkins taught U.S. History, World History and Advanced Placement World History, as well as Government and Economics, at high schools in Round Rock ISD and Georgetown ISD.
“I want to extend my deepest gratitude for being chosen as the next principal of Rouse High School,” Hawkins said. “I will continue to honor the traditions and innovative spirit of this wonderful community. I look forward to meeting with the students, staff and parents who embody #1RoUSe.”
Hawkins completed his Bachelor of Arts degree in political science at Rice University. He went on to attend University of Houston Law Center, where he completed his Doctor of Jurisprudence degree. Since then, Hawkins has attended and spoken at various professional development and education-based conferences.
