LISD welcomes our community to support our students and teachers by volunteering on a district-wide or campus-based committee. If you are interested in serving on one of our district committees, please fill put the application by 5 p.m. on Friday, August 14.

Community-Based Accountability System (CBAS)
The Community-Based Accountability System Committee (CBAS) brings together students, parents, educators, and community members to shape a learning community that reflects what Leander ISD families truly value. This committee gives our district the power to design our own assessment and accountability system — one that works alongside the state system but is built on the hopes and dreams of our own community.
As a member, you’ll help Leander ISD innovate, customize, and continuously improve processes to better serve every student, campus, and family in our district.
Meeting Information:
Location: In-person meetings at the Leander Extended Opportunity Center (LEO) — Approximately 4 meetings per year
Tuesdays, 5:00–6:30 p.m.
Anticipated meeting dates:
● Tuesday, September 29
● Tuesday, October 27
● Tuesday, February 23
● Tuesday, April 6

Community Curriculum Advisory Committee (CCAC)
The Community Curriculum Advisory Committee (CCAC) is a group of LISD parents, teachers, principals, students, business and community members who gather with the primary function to review and provide feedback on district curriculum, instructional resources, and proposed new programs and courses.
Meeting information:
Location: In-person meetings at the Leander Extended Opportunity Center (LEO) — No more than five meetings per year
Plan to meet on Mondays from 5:00-6:30 pm
Anticipated meeting dates:
● Meetings will be scheduled on an as-needed basis; however, all upcoming meetings will continue to be held on Monday nights from 5:00 p.m. to 6:30 p.m.
District-wide Educational Improvement Council (DWEIC)
The District-wide Educational Improvement Council (DWEIC) is a committee of parents, business and community members, teachers, principals, and other district staff who serve as an advisory council for the Board in establishing and reviewing the District’s educational goals and objectives. DWEIC also reviews major district-wide classroom instructional programs and advises on district-wide staff development.
Meeting information:
Location: In-person meetings at the Leander Extended Opportunity Center (LEO) — 7 meetings per year
Plan to meet on Thursdays from 5:30-7:00 pm

School Health Advisory Committee (SHAC)
The School Health Advisory Committee (SHAC) is made up of school personnel, community members and parents, and recommends a coordinated health program for elementary and middle school students. Leander ISD is committed to having a safe and healthy environment for
students, families and staff. By addressing nutrition, physical activity, health education and substance abuse prevention in a variety of ways and to a variety of audiences, we hope to raise the awareness levels and the skills for all to live a healthy life.
Meeting information:
Location: In-person at Leander ISD Support Services Bldg.
4 meetings per year on Monday’s 5:30pm-7:30pm
