The Texas Education Agency has released its 2026 A-F Accountability Ratings, with Leander ISD receiving an overall B rating and score of 87 for the 2025-26 school year.
Across the district, 68% of our campuses (32 of 47 rated campuses) earned an A or B, including all eight high schools and eight of nine middle schools.
Texas’ A–F accountability system evaluates districts and campuses across three areas:
- Student Achievement:
Considers STAAR performance and, for high schools and districts, graduation rates and college, career and military readiness - School Progress:
Measures academic growth over time and performance relative to schools serving similar student populations - Closing the Gaps:
Looks at outcomes across different student groups
Together, those measures are used to calculate an overall score and letter grade for each rated district and campus.
In the 2025-26 school year, two campuses received an F and two received a D. We are focused on strengthening teaching and learning across the district. This includes providing support to campuses, remaining responsive to learning needs, and ensuring students have access to high-quality instruction and materials.
In addition to the overall letter grades, 13 Leander ISD campuses earned a combined 29 distinction designations for strong performance in specific areas.
Science was the most frequently earned distinction in the district, awarded to six campuses, followed by mathematics with five. Four campuses each earned distinctions for comparative academic growth, postsecondary readiness and comparative closing the gaps. Three campuses each earned distinctions in reading/language arts and social studies.
TEA uses distinction designations to recognize strong campus performance in academic areas and other measures, including performance compared with similar schools.
