Leander ISD is committed to partnering with families to support student health, safety, and access to learning.
In accordance with SB 12, the district is providing notice of the health-related services that are available to students during the school day. These services may include routine clinic support, health assessments, screenings, basic first aid, health guidance, and referrals when appropriate.
Parents and guardians have the right to opt out of specific health-related services for their student. The district will assume consent is provided unless a parent or guardian submits an opt-out request. To request an opt-out form, please email or provide written notice to your child’s campus nurse. Parents may update their decisions at any time.
Please note that opting out of specific health-related services does not prevent the district from responding to emergencies, contacting emergency medical services, complying with applicable laws, making required reports, or providing general caretaking and safety support.
For complete information about available health-related services, parent notification, opt-out procedures, and what to expect if your child needs care for a service you have opted out of, please review the district’s SB 12 Health-Related Services FAQ page.
Thank you for your partnership in supporting the health and well-being of our students.
