Swimmers from five LISD high schools qualified to compete in the championship and consolation finals at the 2025 UIL State Swimming & Diving Meet on Saturday, Feb. 22, and brought home a range of medals, including two golds. 

At the 5A level, senior Ella Mongenel earned a gold medal 🥇 for Cedar Park HS in the Girls 50 Yard Freestyle event. Also in the 5A bracket, Brooke Frushour of Leander HS secured a gold 🥇 in the championship final of the Girls 100 Yard Backstroke event. Both Frushour and Mongenel earned 🥈 silver medals in the Girls 100 Yard Butterfly and Girls 100 Yard Freestyle events, respectively. 

Our 5A bronze medalists 🥉 include Lauren Lucas of Cedar Park HS for her performance in the Girls 200 Yard Freestyle event and Alex Orris, Elizaveta Pozhenko, Sophia Nguyen, and Hannah Seal of Vandegrift HS in the Girls 400 Yard Freestyle Relay. 

On the boys side, Kai Funaro of Rouse HS medaled silver 🥈 in the Boys 50 Yard Freestyle and medaled bronze 🥉 in the Boys 100 Yard Freestyle event. Aaron Gordon of Vandegrift HS brought home a bronze medal 🥉 earned in the Boys 100 Yard Backstroke.
