Back for its third year, the Leander Lazers hosted their annual Basketball Showcase on Saturday, Feb. 22 at Cedar Park High School. Special Olympic athletes competed in Team Skills and 3-on-3 half-court play. This year, teams from Pflugerville, Round Rock, Lake Travis, and Lago Vista also competed in the showcase.
With help from district, community, and student volunteers, the clinic allows coaches to assess the skill levels of the athletes. In addition, participating athletes get an opportunity to learn and develop leadership skills.
