At Leander ISD, our mission is to inspire and equip every student to succeed. To support this, we rely on a Community-Based Accountability System (CBAS) and a District Improvement Plan (DIP) that are driven by the voices of those we serve: our students and families. These tools allow us to engage in an ongoing dialogue to provide the best possible education and hold ourselves accountable to our community’s goals.
We are preparing to administer our annual Student Climate Survey to students in grades 3–12. This survey is a vital tool for our continuous improvement process, helping us identify where our schools are performing well and where we can grow to better support student learning, safety, and well-being.
In alignment with Senate Bill 12 (SB 12) and our commitment to full transparency, we want you to be completely informed about the survey content before it is administered. We believe that by sharing these questions openly, we can build a stronger partnership with our families.
The survey focuses on several key areas, including:
- Empowered Student Learning: Questions regarding classroom engagement, academic support, and access to technology.
- Belonging and Respect: How students interact with peers and staff, and the inclusivity of the school environment.
- Campus Safety: Student comfort levels in their classrooms and on campus.
- LISD Graduate Profile: How school experiences help students become skilled communicators, collaborators, and critical thinkers.
We encourage you to review the specific questions your child will be asked. Please find the attached documents for your reference:
Again, we value the data from these surveys as it directly impacts our district accountability goals; however, we respect your right as a parent to decide your child’s level of participation.
You only need to take action if you wish to opt your child out of the survey process. If you choose to opt your child out, please complete the following form by Jan. 30.
