Melanie Lee is booking it to the top of our recognition as our Leander ISD Volunteer of the Week!
Melanie has served as Stiles Middle School’s Parent Teacher Student Association (PTSA) Book Fair chairperson for the past several years. She clocks hundreds of hours preparing for and running the book fairs for students. Before the library opens and long after it’s closed, Melanie seldom takes time for a lunch break to ensure the fair’s success. Year over year, sales dramatically increase. Because of her efforts, the library was able to add a second presentation screen and afford the removal of security gates that were an eyesore to our beautiful space.
Meticulous in record-keeping and an amazing promoter, Melanie drums up more excitement about book fairs than Stiles Middle School librarian Bobbie Johnson had ever seen!
“This was her last year with a middle schooler, so she is moving on,” Johnson said. “She will be sorely missed. She has made a huge impact at Stiles, and we will be forever grateful for her contribution.”
Three cheers for the book fair’s biggest cheerleader, LISD Volunteer of the Week Melanie Lee!
