Leander ISD Board Member Will Streit has been elected to an interim position on the Texas Association of School Boards Board of Directors, representing TASB Region 13B. Streit was elected to his local board in 2008 and currently serves as president, a position he previously held from 2009 to 2012. In addition, he has served on the Lone Star Investment Pool board since his appointment in 2013.

Streit, a product manager with IBM, earned a bachelor’s degree from the University of California, San Diego (UCSD), master’s degree in business administration from Duke University, and master’s degree in history from Sam Houston State University. In addition, he completed the UCSD education studies undergraduate program and holds professional certificates in accounting and finance.

TASB is a nonprofit association established in 1949 to serve local public school boards. School board members are the largest group of publicly elected officials in the state. The districts they represent serve more than 5.3 million students.
