‘Tis the season for giving: giving presents to friends and family, giving your time and giving back to the community. Across the district, students and community members are packing food boxes to assist families over Winter Break. This year, 350 LISD families will have less stress regarding the family’s food needs.
Starting at Mason Elementary in 2012, the organization has grown to 14 different campuses. The goal for this year was to provide food to 200 families. Each box contains about 100 dollars worth of food.
“This is an amazing outpouring of care and concern for LISD families,” coordinator Karen Faulkner said. “We are most grateful for the outpouring of support from the community.”
