Leander ISD is proud to honor Leander High Schoolโs Jania Matthews as the LISD Fine Arts Student of the Week.
Jania serves as center snare and section letter of the Leander Band drumline.ย She was selected as the โRookie of the Yearโ her freshman year, earned section leader and center snare her junior year and displays servant leadership, humility, class and determination on a daily basis.
Jania also composes and produces her own music and inspires others through her own creativity and musicianship.
โJania is at the top of her game in all aspects,โ said LHS Percussion Director Mike Zellers. โShe is a true servant leader and a rock for our band program. She does what it takes to be great and always help other students achieve their best. She is one of the reason the Leander Band rises to the task every time.โ
