Leander ISD will continue to offer remote learning for the 2022–23 school year. The Leander ISD Virtual Learning Academy will serve students in grades K-8. Students must reside in the Leander ISD attendance area and must satisfy criteria as established in Texas Education Code and local guidelines.

All interested students/families must complete the required admission application.

Note: Applications received after the deadline will be accepted and reviewed for program eligibility, but will be placed on a waiting list. Incomplete applications will not be processed.

The Virtual Learning Academy will not offer performing arts or athletics, and course offering – particularly academic electives – will be limited.

While the Virtual Learning Academy has limited enrollment capacity, admission is not based on order of application submission. After the application window has closed, all submitted applications will be reviewed for program eligibility under state and local guidelines. Eligible students will be placed into a grade-level blind lottery and selected on a grade-level basis until enrollment reaches capacity. Upon reaching grade-level capacity, students who applied during the application window will be placed on a waiting list.
