Leander ISD Superintendent Dan Troxell, Ph.D., announced Kimberly Waltmon as the new principal of Canyon Ridge Middle School on Friday, June 1.
“Kimberly has worked her entire educational career in Leander ISD, and she is a proven leader in our district,” Troxell said. “She is ready to build upon the incredible culture that has been established at Canyon Ridge and continue to enhance teaching and learning for all.”
Waltmon began her teaching career in 2006 as a special education teacher at Giddens Elementary. She served as assistant principal at Stiles Middle School from 2012–2015 and is currently the principal at Parkside Elementary.
“I am excited to become a Canyon Ridge Eagle!” Waltmon said. “This is a great opportunity to join a strong community, focused on student growth and high levels of learning for all. I look forward to partnering with students, staff and parents to continue the tremendous success at Canyon Ridge.”
Waltmon earned her bachelor’s and master’s degrees from Texas State University.
