After a successful tenure as interim principal, campus leader Marcia Fields will become the new principal of River Ridge Elementary School.
“Marcia is a proven leader who brings a strong commitment to student learning, meaningful partnerships with families, and positive, lasting relationships across the school community,” said Leander ISD Superintendent Chris Clark, Ed.D. “We are confident that under her leadership, River Ridge will continue to thrive and provide an exceptional experience for every student.”
Fields has served as interim principal at River Ridge since February 2026, maintaining a steady leadership presence and supportive environment during a time of transition. Prior to that, she served as assistant principal at Hisle and Pleasant Hill Elementary in Leander ISD, where she helped lead important initiatives focused on attendance and access to opportunities for students and staff.
A bit of a homecoming for Fields, she previously served as a teacher for the Rattlers, a role she has held at other LISD campuses. She has also served as an instructional coach and a mentor to emerging leaders in Leander ISD’s Aspiring Administrators Academy.
“Returning to the River Ridge family after more than a decade is truly an honor,” Fields said. “I am excited to partner with the Rattler community, which cares deeply about the success of every student. I look forward to learning, growing and working alongside this wonderful team of staff, students and families.”
A graduate of Texas Tech University, Fields earned her Bachelor or Arts degree in psychology and went on to obtain her Master of Education in educational administration from Lamar University. Fields also completed Leander ISD’s Prospective Principal Program (P3) in 2023.
