Military, home, and schools make up a lifetime of service for Trustee Jim MacKay who keeps ongoing. The two-term Trustee serving Place 5, Jim is a career military man, dad, and volunteer. When he’s not in Board meetings, he’s serving his country in the United States Air Force Reserves in training and instructor positions or his community as a certified firefighter and medical first responder for the Texas Air National Guard.
Jim brought years of experience in volunteer roles across Leander ISD when he joined the Board in November 2016, including site-based committee, booster club and PTA leadership, and as a stadium announcer for athletic events. He has experienced this current pandemic from the Trustee’s chair as well as with our local public health agencies, serving any way he can to keep our community safe and healthy during a once in a century crisis.
