Leander ISD is honored to celebrate School Nurse Appreciation Week from May 5-9!

The impact of school nurses is felt every day. From treating injuries and managing chronic conditions to supporting students’ mental health and promoting healthy habits, our school nurses do it all.

“Our school nurses are vital members of the educational community,” said Cristin Wicketts, LISD director of health services. “They help ensure that every student is safe, supported and ready to learn. I am proud to recognize their extraordinary dedication and the care they bring to every interaction.”

To date, the Leander ISD health services team has provided the following care to our students during the 2024-25 school year:

  • 101,895 clinic visits
  • 58,524 state mandated screenings
  • 9,920 scheduled medical procedures

To the amazing Leander ISD health services department: Never forget the incredible difference you make. Thank you for all you do.
