Leander ISD expresses heartfelt gratitude to the districtβs counseling services team during National School Counseling Week from February 3-7.
School counselors work to promote the academic, career and social development of all students. While school counselors primarily provide academic and career advising, they also serve as the first point of contact for social and emotional concerns.
School counselors also provide lessons in the classroom setting as well as meeting individually with students and parents.
βDuring National School Counselor Week, I want to express our profound gratitude to the 122 members of the Leander ISD counseling services team,β said Steve Clark, director of counseling services at LISD. βYou are integral to our students achieving their academic, career, and social-emotional goals. Thank you for working tirelessly to remove barriers and create a supportive environment where all students can thrive.β
The mission of the Leander ISD Counseling Services Department is to provide a proactive and comprehensive counseling program for all students. Counseling Services partners with educators, parents/guardians and community members to ensure all students in Leander ISD are prepared with the knowledge and skills to contribute at the highest level as productive members of society.
Through the comprehensive counseling program, students develop their academic, career and social skills to βUnlock Their Potential.β
