Seventh Grader Mason Maginel from Henry Middle School is the Leander ISD Fine Arts Student of the Week.
Henry is a dedicated band student who has found his community within the band program. As a band student aid, he has done an incredible job of welcoming the sixth grade Hawk band students to the program, making sure they feel a sense of belonging, showing them what the standard is and helping them when they are confused.
“Mason is a kind and hardworking student who has taken a lot of ownership in the beginning trombone class,” HMS Band Director Katherine Norris said. “He has done a wonderful job of making everyone feel welcome and setting the standard for the class! He always has a smile on his face and is happy to help in any way that he can!”
