Vandegrift High School Junior Joy Kinney is the Leander ISD Fine Arts Student of the Week.
Joy has taken on a huge leadership role within the Vandegrift Musician’s Club while maintaining her rigorous IB schedule. She has also grown as an oboe player this year, pushing those around her to improve.
“We nominated Joy because of her musical growth, leadership, and positive attitude throughout the fall and spring,” Director of Bands Katie VanDoren said. “She is a joy to teach and has worked to bring music beyond our classroom through the Vandegrift Musician’s Club!”
