Leander ISD proudly joins districts nationwide in celebrating School Psychologist Appreciation Week, November 3–7, 2025. This year’s theme, “Finding Your Path,” highlights the essential role school psychologists play in helping students, families, and school communities set and achieve meaningful goals.

Every day, our school psychologists guide students and staff in navigating paths toward learning, growth, and well-being, ensuring that every individual has the tools and support needed to thrive. Through their expertise in consultation, collaboration, and evidence-based practices, they empower others to find direction, make progress, and achieve success.

School psychologists serve our district in many vital ways. They conduct and interpret evaluations for special education eligibility, provide recommendations to address academic and behavioral challenges, and help ensure students are placed in the least restrictive environment that best meets their needs. In addition, they offer consultation and support to families, educators, and administrators, and play an integral role in the design and supervision of behavioral supports and services.

These professionals bridge the gap between home, school, and community by fostering safe, healthy, and inclusive learning environments. Their work supports students’ growth, helping every learner reach their fullest potential.

Leander ISD is proud to have a talented team of 41 school psychologists, including our Lead School Psychologist, as well as three additional school psychologists serving in leadership roles—two as Coordinators and one as a Low Incidence Disability Specialist. Together, this team supports more than 7,000 students receiving special education services across the district. Each of these students has benefited from the expertise and dedication of our evaluation team, both at the start and throughout their educational journey.

“We are deeply grateful for our exceptional school psychologists who make a difference every single day. Your commitment, compassion, and expertise enrich the lives of our students, families, and staff. The work you do matters, and we appreciate you!”
