LISD Releases 3rd Scenario in Elementary Attendance Zoning

As we were developing this third scenario, we also evaluated the various specialized programs offered at our campuses and how the classrooms accommodate these opportunities. We know the functional capacity of our schools can change from year to year and are mindful of setting and adjusting this capacity each year for our schools. After a closer look, we reviewed current and future programs along with the projected growth and adjusted the functional capacity for North Elementary, resulting in an increase in classrooms available.

Update on LISD’s Expanded Long-Range Planning Committee 

On June 6, 2023, the district’s Long-Range Planning Committee began its journey with a newly expanded membership of 61 participants – 10 students, 26 parents, 4 community members, 3 board members, 11 campus staff, and 7 district staff. The committee agreed to meet monthly to review data, provide input, engage in shared learning, and discuss recommendations and solutions to address our growing student population.

LISD Secondary Rezoning, Transfer & Sibling(s) Exceptions and Athletic Eligibility Guidelines Effective 2024-25 School Year

The Board of Trustees approved the new secondary school zoning for both the High School and Middle Schools at the June 8 Board Meeting.  Students will be rezoned to their new campus in the 2024-25 school year. 8th graders and 11th and 12th graders will have the option to remain at their current campus as long as they complete a transfer request and provide their own transportation.
