Art teacher Michelle Stoeffler incorporated Giddens Elementary School’s namesake, Lois F. Giddens, into a unique opportunity for her 5th-grade students.

After several weeks of research into the life of Mr. Giddens and learning about his commitment to supporting public education in the Leander area, the students drew portraits of Mr. Giddens and wrote notes of gratitude to his family, who paid a special visit to their classroom.

The Giddens family, including some of Lois Giddens’ grandchildren, shared memories of Mr. Giddens and told the students of his contributions to Leander ISD as a community and school board member.
