Vista Ridge High School’s counseling team has been awarded the Counselors Reinforcing Excellence for Students in Texas (CREST) Award for the third year in a row. The recognition highlights this Leander ISD counseling program’s commitment to excellence and continuous improvement.
The CREST Award is sponsored by the Texas School Counselor Association (TSCA) and awarded to school counseling programs that meet CREST requirements. Awarded programs demonstrate a commitment to a Comprehensive School Counseling Program as defined by the State of Texas.
Vista Ridge Counseling Lead Deanna Baker said that applying for this award helps her team to document their role in supporting student success academically, personally and socially, and in career development.
“I am so proud to be a part of the Counseling team at Vista Ridge High School. Each counselor brings a unique gift to our team which ultimately benefits our students and helps us achieve our goals,” Baker said. “Without the incredible support of our administrative team, teachers and amazing community, none of this could happen!”
Vista Ridge is one of 35 high schools in Texas to receive this award this year.
