The University Interscholastic League (UIL) released the 2026-27 and 2027-28 football, basketball and volleyball district assignments. Realignment affects all UIL sports, but none more so than football, which has the most elaborate playoffs of all the sports with several classifications split into two divisions based on enrollment numbers.
Vandegrift and Vista Ridge high schools stay in Class 6A, with Cedar Park, Leander and Rouse high schools also moving up to the 6A bracket. Glenn High School remains in Class 5A.
