The Texas Education Agency released the 2023–2024 and 2024–2025 A-F Accountability Ratings for Leander ISD and each of its campuses at TXSchools.gov.
The reports reflect the growth of Leander ISD students and the impact of targeted strategies to support learning. These gains – particularly in reading and math – align with positive trends seen in the district’s Leading Measures data throughout the year, and they’re a reflection of the district’s dedication to advancing academic achievement and ensuring that every student is on a path to success. It’s also a result of a focus on teacher professional learning communities (PLCs) to support student learning and ownership across all of our campuses.
For families, this is a reminder to look beyond the letter grade. STAAR is one test, one day. The results are one part of a much larger assessment framework utilized within LISD to determine student mastery and understanding of the TX Essential Knowledge and Skills (TEKS). We also use:
- classroom formative assessments,
- district assessments covering specific TEKS in units,
- and universal screeners to identify areas of strength and areas that may need additional focus for each child.
Community-Based Accountability System
Leander ISD will soon publish its 2024–25 Community-Based Accountability System (CBAS) report, offering a comprehensive overview of the district’s progress aligned with its five-year Strategic Plan.
The CBAS report highlights Leander ISD’s commitment to a holistic approach to education, emphasizing community-defined outcomes beyond standardized assessments. The full report will be available later this fall. To view previous years’ reports, visit the district’s CBAS webpage.
Going on its fourth year, the CBAS report drills down into five focus areas: Empowered Student Learning, Empowered Staff, Impactful Family Engagement, Equitable Access, and Safe and Innovative Learning Environments.
We encourage you to talk to your campus leaders, ask questions, and focus on the full picture of how your school is helping students grow.
