Abby St. Clair, from Wiley Middle School, is the Leander ISD Student-Athlete of the Week.
Abby is a seventh grade member of the Coyote volleyball team and plans on participating in basketball, soccer and track this school year.
Wiley Girls Coach Christina Wayson said that Abby is a leader on and off the court, setting an excellent example wherever she is. She regularly encourages each player on her team, boosting morale and causing her teammates to look up to her.
“Abby has been an incredible asset to this team,” Wayson said. “She consistently motivates her team to be better. She comes in with an amazing attitude every day and is constantly striving to improve.”
Wayson said that when the team is struggling on the court, they can count on Abby to bring the energy and lift everyone’s spirit.
In addition to participating in athletics, Abby is an A/B Honor Roll student and takes advanced ELA, Math and Gateway courses.
