Leander ISD is proud to announce Vandegrift High School’s Ava Chiarelli and Kaily Jaramillo, from Glenn High School, as the Leander ISD Student-Athletes of the Week.

Ava is a senior student athletic trainer and has supported Vandegrift Viper boys basketball and football for the past three years. As a student athletic trainer, Ava is enrolled in sports medicine courses and is a member of the National Honor Society. Last year, Ava’s peers awarded her the “Second to None” award, which goes to a member of an organization that exemplifies character, sportsmanship and honor.

“Ava is always smiling the whole time, even if conditions are less than ideal,” Vandegrift Athletic Trainer Chris Shivers said. “We have always been able to depend on Ava to make sure the student-athletes are taken care of during practices and games”.

Kaily is a junior student athletic trainer who supports football and baseball programs. Not only is Kaily enrolled in sports medicine courses, she is also a member of the Future Farmers of America, National Honor Society, Fellowship of Christian Athletes, and The Locker. In addition, Kaily competes in cross country and track at Glenn.

“Kaily is a natural leader with the determination to do her best at everything she does,” said Glenn High School Athletic Trainer Molly Kidd. “She takes initiative and is a leader in and out of the classroom.”

Congratulations to Ava Chiarelli  and Kaily Jaramillo for being named the Leander ISD Student-Athletes of the Week.
