Leander ISD students excelled at the District 10 SkillsUSA competition in February, notching several state-qualifying finishes.

Electrical Construction Wiring Contest: All 3 qualify for State

1st Place – Cody Votaw

2nd Place – Andrew Reichold

3rd Place – Dean Mosher

National Electric Code Written Exam: All 3 qualify for State

1st Place – Hayden Snow (with a perfect score of 100)

2nd Place – Andrew Reichold (with a score of 95)

3rd Place – Justin Snyder (with a score of 88) First time a 1st Year student has placed in this contest!

Related Technical Math (the most difficult contest out of 300 contests)

4th Place – Evan Smith

8th Place – Cole Smith

12th Place – Vaibhav Krishnaswamy

Team Works (composed of a carpenter, electrician, plumber, and a brick mason)

6th Place : Logan Hickman, Will Loofe, Alex Martinez, & Chaz Adley

We also took 5 projects and they all qualified for State Contest.  The projects have to score between 90 & 100 in order to qualify. The project teams are as follows:

Team 1: Evan Smith & Xavier Terry (with a score of 95)

Team2: Will Loofe, Matthew McDaniel, & Chaz Adley (with a score of 92)

Team 3: Alex Martinez & Hayden Snow (with a score of 91)

Team 4: Cody Votaw & Dean Mosher (with a score of 95)

Team 5: Andrew Reichold  (with a score of 95)

Finally, Evan Smith was also elected as a District Officer for the 2019-2020 school year.
