Seventh grader Sofia Caro from Stiles Middle School is the Leander ISD Student-Athlete of the Week.
Sofia has participated in cross country, volleyball and basketball for the Spartans and plans to run track and play soccer this spring.
Stiles Middle School Girls Athletic Coordinator Rachel McDougle said that Sofia is an incredible athlete with an unmatched work ethic.
“Sofia brings her best each day. She is nice to others, fun to coach, and works hard in the classroom and in the gym,” McDougle said. “She rises to challenges and encourages those around her. She is an all-around great kid with leadership potential. Having Sofia in our program makes us better.”
Sofia is also on the A/B Honor Roll and a member of Fellowship of Christian Athletes.
