He’s got drive! Andrew Tan has earned the distinction as Leander ISD Student-Athlete of the Week!
The Vandegrift High School senior serves as captain of the Viper golf team. His accomplishments include District 25-6A Individual Champion as well as member of the District Championship Team. Due to his hard work in the classroom, Andrew received recognition with a place on the Academic All-District team.
“Andrew is one of the best golfers in the state of Texas; however, he is an even better person than he is an athlete,” Vandegrift HS Head Golf Coach Ben Lee said. “As the boy’s team captain, he has been a huge part of our success. A natural-born leader, he stands out from his peers due to his work ethic, leadership, and natural charisma. He’s always willing to encourage his teammates if they are struggling and is the first to congratulate others on their achievements and success.”
