Leander ISD has selected accomplished leader Christina Lane as the new principal of New Hope HS. The Board approved the recommendation at Thursday night’s meeting.
“Join me in welcoming Christina Lane as the new principal of New Hope High School,” said LISD Superintendent Bruce Gearing, Ed.D. “Christina brings a deep commitment to collaborative leadership and student-centered innovation. Her ability to foster inclusive school cultures, implement systems that improve academic progress, and support staff and families has had a transformational impact. Under her continued leadership, NHHS will thrive as a model of personal learning and academic excellence.”
Lane has served as assistant principal of New Hope HS since July 2024. During this time, Lane drove innovative operational processes that improved systems for monitoring students’ attendance and academic progress.
As assistant principal, she also leveraged data-driven insights to inform strategic decision-making, enhancing student experiences and outcomes. In addition, Lane collaborated with teachers and staff to ensure all students have access to high-quality educational opportunities and increased opportunities for students to participate in community service and outreach initiatives.
“I am thrilled to be named the New Hope High School principal and am eager to build on our school’s strengths and achievements,” Lane said. “I am excited about the opportunities ahead to foster a supportive and inclusive environment that empowers every student to succeed.”
Prior to serving as assistant principal of New Hope HS, Lane served as assistant principal of LISD’s Virtual Learning Academy and an instructional coach for the Leander ISD remote learning program and New Hope HS. Lane started with Leander ISD in 2008 in teaching roles at Wiley and Stiles middle schools.
Lane is a graduate of the Leander ISD Aspiring Administrator Academy and the Prospective Principal Program. She earned her bachelor’s degree in psychology from Mercyhurst College and went on to receive a master’s in educational leadership and policy studies from the University of Texas at Arlington.
