Leander ISD has been recognized by Central Texas Clean Cities for the second year in a row for the district’s use of alternative fuels, advanced vehicle technologies, and fuel-saving strategies. 

The recognition for the year 2023 highlights the district’s efforts to help contribute to cleaner air quality and transportation innovation in the Central Texas region by reducing:

  • 17,328 Tons of Greenhouse Gas Emissions
  • 4.407 lbs of NOx
  • 258 lbs PM 2.5

LISD earned the alternative fuels award badge for its use of vehicles that operate on B20, electricity, E85, hydrogen, propane, natural gas, and/or have a hybrid drive train. In addition, Leander ISD was honored with the idle reduction award badge for 2023, which recognizes the district’s technologies, training, and policies that reduce idling.Β 

The district’s efforts to be fuel-efficient contribute to advancing clean and efficient transportation in our region.Β
