The Leander Lazers athletes put their skills on full display once again during the annual Basketball Showcase Wednesday, Feb. 14, at Cedar Park Middle School. During the showcase, athletes competed in individual skills, team skills, 3-on-3 half-court play, and full-court traditional basketball with Special Olympic athletes taking on a team of high school players from around the district.
Program director Ryan Gough and her team of Adapted Physical Education teachers serve as coaches, with the help from district and community volunteers. The clinic also allowed coaches the opportunity to assess the skill levels of the athletes. In addition, this clinic provided students in the district the chance to serve their community and learn leadership skills.
