Leander ISD is proud to announce its selection as a CTE District of Distinction by the Career and Technical Association of Texas (CTAT). This esteemed recognition celebrates districts across Texas that demonstrate exemplary leadership, innovation, and commitment to student success through high-quality Career and Technical Education (CTE) programs.

The CTE District of Distinction program, launched by CTAT, highlights districts that excel in workforce readiness, foster innovation in CTE, and inspire others through their dedication to student achievement and community impact. Honored districts serve as models of excellence, showcasing best practices and driving progress in CTE statewide.

LISD is one of only 38 districts in the state to receive this distinction.

β€œBeing recognized as a CTE District of Distinction is a testament to the hard work, innovation, and dedication of our incredible CTE team,” said Dustin Binnicker, Ed.D., LISD assistant superintendent of advanced academics & pathways. β€œOur teachers go above and beyond every day to provide students with real-world experiences that prepare them for success in today’s ever-changing workforce. Through their commitment, our students are gaining valuable skills and confidence to lead in high-demand careers.”

School districts honored with this distinction are selected based on their ability to meet rigorous criteria that include innovative programming, industry based certifications, alignment with workforce needs, and exceptional student outcomes.

As a CTE District of Distinction, LISD is not only celebrating its own achievements but also setting a benchmark for excellence in CTE statewide. This designation opens doors to new opportunities for collaboration with educational and workforce development leaders, further advancing the district’s mission of preparing students for success in a rapidly evolving economy.

β€œBy bridging the gap between education and industry, we are not only preparing our students for the workforce but also equipping them with the tools to be the leaders of tomorrow,” Binnicker said. β€œI am incredibly proud of the progress we’ve made, the lives we’re transforming together, and the future we’re building for our students.”

Leander ISD’s CTE programs are built on a foundation of innovation, workforce alignment, and a deep commitment to student success. β€œI am very proud of the collaborative efforts of LISD CTE that makes this achievement possibleβ€”from campus and district teacher Professional Learning Communities (PLCs) to the support of our campus and district leadership, and our valued community and industry partners,” said Jamie Everett, assistant director of career development at Leander ISD. β€œEveryone plays a vital role in creating high-quality, real-world learning experiences for our students.”
