The Career and Technical Association of Texas (CTAT) has named Leander ISD a Career and Technical Education (CTE) District of Distinction for the second year in a row. This prestigious designation recognizes districts that demonstrate exceptional innovation, collaboration and impact.
Leander ISD is one of 71 districts selected in the state for this recognition. As models of excellence, CTE Districts of Distinction embody best practices and inspire quality programming across the state.
Since LISD’s first CTE District of Distinction recognition, the district has expanded its CTE offerings at the middle school level and has strengthened its programs of study, encouraging more students to complete their chosen pathway. As a result, the district has seen growth in practicum course offerings, which afford students the opportunity for impactful, work-based learning opportunities.
Leander ISD has also continued to strengthen its community partnerships, growing opportunities with partners such as the City of Cedar Park and Ascension Cedar Park, while also working to establish new community partnerships that will offer students the opportunity to apply what they learn in their CTE courses in a real-world setting.
“Earning the Texas CTE District of Distinction from CTAT affirms our district’s commitment to providing high quality, future ready career and technical education opportunities for every student,” said LISD Director of Career and Technical Education Jamie Everett. “This honor reflects the collective efforts of our students, dedicated teachers, administrators, counselors, district CTE team, and industry partners who work together to deliver meaningful, hands-on learning experiences. We are proud of the powerful impact this recognition represents for students across our district.”
The district is committed to continue to exemplify how CTE can transform lives, from cutting-edge pathways to employer partnerships that prepare students for thriving careers.
