Freshman Lilly Melton at Glenn High School is the Leander ISD Fine Arts Student of the Week.
This is Lilly’s first year participating in Varsity Technical Theatre. Although she is a freshman, she quickly jumped in and expanded her knowledge in costuming, set design and running operations backstage, and is currently working as Set Stage Crew for Glenn’s musical theatre production of Mean Girls.
Technical Theatre Director Melissa Driscoll said that Lilly has made a super first impression as a freshman in a Varsity level course.
“Lilly has worked hard to learn new skills and support the Tech theatre program in all ways she can. She even made big changes to her home schedule to join our after-school build crew for the musical Mean Girls. When we entered Tech rehearsals she stood out as a leader and a positive influence on all of us,” Driscoll said. “She volunteered to take on jobs of all kinds and never hesitated to get something done that the show needed. The directors cannot believe she has only been here a few short months and we depend on her so much! She’s amazing!”
