Leander ISD is proud to honor Leander High School standout Amanda Golka as the LISD Fine Arts Student of the Week.

Amanda is currently in the top LHS choral ensemble, Lionheart Singers, where she has been singing soprano for two years. In addition to her ensemble success, Amanda has participated in the Texas Music Educators Association All-State Process and been selected for the Region 32 Mixed Choir. She has shown her dedication to the music by attending choir camp and sectionals regularly. She has adapted a growth mindset and each year she has achieved more musically than the year before.

Outside of choral opportunities, Amanda takes part in the Ready Set Teach Program. Through this program, Amanda has been paired with RBMS choir classes. This opportunity is allowing Amanda to start her journey towards becoming a choir teacher. She is learning how to organize a classroom, manage a rehearsal, and build relationships with students.

“Amanda is a superstar!,” LHS Choir Director Spencer Wiley said. “She works extremely well with her peers and people in authority. If I ever have a task we need done the right way, she is our go-to person. She has such a sweet spirit that lights up the choir room.”

Congratulations to Leander High School’s Amanda Golka, our LISD Fine Arts Student of the Week!
