Rouse High School Sophomore Fakheri Zayed is the Leander ISD Fine Arts Student of the Week.

Fakheri excels academically and exhibits integrity which seeps into her work as a photographer and journalist. She participated in the 2024 VASE competition and received two medals for each of her submissions in photography. She also serves as the public relations officer for the Global Cultures Club at Rouse and is an integral staffer on the Rouse yearbook and newspaper.

Visual Arts Teacher Cynthia Acevedo said that she nominated Fakheri because she embodies the 10 ethical principles which are the basis for the Graduate profile in LISD.

“Everything Fakheri engages in and seeks to find more information on or pursues is done with intention, with determination and with integrity,” Acevedo said. “She is both creatively inclined and academically driven. I am super proud of Fakheri’s accomplishments thus far and cannot wait to see what more she will do or pursue in the future!”
