Glenn HS CTE Students Foster Meaningful Collaboration with Whitestone ES Dual Language Learners
In a unique bilingual collaboration between Leander ISD elementary and high school students, the Glenn High School Agricultural Science program recently welcomed a group of second-grade dual language students from Whitestone Elementary School. The visit provided young learners with a valuable opportunity to present their science projects to an authentic audience while engaging with high school students in an immersive, hands-on experience.
The high school students delivered presentations – also in Spanish – on several Career & Technical Education (CTE) courses, giving the elementary students a glimpse of the opportunities that await them in high school.
This inspiring partnership between Glenn High School and Whitestone Elementary exemplifies the Leander ISD Graduate Profile, in which students are empowered to be critical and creative thinkers, skilled communicators and collaborators, compassionate community contributors, and adaptive and reflective individuals at all stages in their educational journey.
PreK, Kindergarten & New-Student Registration Now Open
Join the #1LISD family for the 2025-26 school year! Enrollment for new students opened Tuesday, April 1, and will continue throughout the summer. Families are encouraged to enroll at their home campus or online through the district website.
To kick off the school registration and enrollment season, families are invited to attend LISD’s PreK Registration Event and Early Childhood Resource Fair on Saturday, April 5, from 9 a.m.–1 p.m. at the LEO Conference Center. This fair will provide district families who have incoming PreK students the opportunity to register for the 2025-26 school year, while introducing them to community and district resources.
Families who plan to register their student for PreK at the fair must bring the required registration documentation.
#1LISD Celebrates Youth Art Month
Two LISD Students Selected for Texas Art Education Association Youth Art Month Exhibition
Two Leander ISD students had their artwork on display in the Bob Bullock Museum in Austin during the month of March for the Texas Art Education Association’s Youth Art Month Exhibition.
Vanessa Bonilla Garcia of Rouse HS and Kambry Jackson of Glenn HS were selected by the LISD Fine Arts Department to represent the district in the exhibition, which featured artwork from students all over the state. Bonilla Garcia and Jackson were honored for their accomplishments at an awards ceremony March 9.
“On behalf of Leander ISD and the fine arts office, congratulations to Vanessa and Kambry for their outstanding achievements at Youth Art Month,” said Megan Liles, LISD director of visual and performing arts. “Their dedication, passion, and vision embody the spirit of artistic expression that makes March a special time to recognize the power of youth creativity. These awards reflect not just their hard work, but also the potential of our youth shaping the future of art.”
Leander ISD Hosts District Art Show to Display Artistic Talent of Students
To close out Youth Art Month and to showcase the wide array of artistic talent across #1LISD, the district hosted its annual arts show Saturday, March 29 at Vandegrift HS.
Hundreds of pieces created by our very own Leander ISD students, from elementary to high school, were on display for families, staff, and the community to enjoy.
Thank you to all who came out to support our talented artists, and congratulations to the students who had work featured in the show!
Leander ISD Vocational Services Hosts First Ever Reverse Job Fair
In a unique role reversal, 14 employers attended Leander ISD’s first-ever Vocational Services Reverse Job Fair, where students with disabilities showcased their employability skills during on-the-spot interviews.
The job fair, made possible by a LEEF grant, featured 26 students from every traditional high school in the district. “The goal of this fair is for our students to get hired,” Denise Geiger, LISD sr. transition coordinator said. “We were very pleased to hear from employers who attended the fair that the accomplishments of our talented students inspired them and that they would love to hire them all.”
#LISDBond Updates: Cedar Park HS, Vista Ridge HS Celebrate New Turf Ribbon-Cuttings
It’s a grand slam for Cedar Park HS and Vista Ridge HS! Both schools recently celebrated the ribbon-cutting of their new baseball and softball turfs. These projects were funded by the 2023 Bond.
A huge thank you to everyone who helped make these events happen and to the #1LISD community for investing in our students by passing the 2023 Bond.

Register your student(s) by May 31 to guarantee transportation on the first day of school.

Leander ISD Celebrates Frontier Direct Care Clinic Grand Opening
Leander ISD is proud to partner with Frontier Direct Care to offer direct primary care services at reduced costs with no wait times exclusively to LISD employees. The Frontier Direct Care Clinic, located at 11840 Hero Way, Suite #200, Leander, TX 78641, celebrated its grand opening on March 10.
“The new clinic represents Leander ISD’s commitment to prioritizing the health and well-being of our employees and their families,” said Casey O’Pry, Ed.D., LISD chief human resources officer. “We believe that providing convenient, personalized healthcare will result in healthier employees, reduced healthcare costs, and a stronger company culture.”
Frontier Direct Care offers a wide variety of healthcare services to LISD employees and their dependents, such as family medicine, women’s health, and minor procedures.

En una colaboración bilingüe única entre estudiantes de primaria y preparatoria de Leander ISD, el programa de Ciencias Agrícolas de la Preparatoria Glenn recibió recientemente a un grupo de estudiantes de segundo grado de lenguaje dual de la Escuela Primaria Whitestone. La visita brindó a los jóvenes estudiantes una valiosa oportunidad de presentar sus proyectos de ciencias a una audiencia auténtica mientras interactuaban con estudiantes de preparatoria en una experiencia práctica e inmersiva.

Ya está abierta la inscripción para PreK, Kindergarten y estudiantes nuevos
¡Únase a la familia #1LISD para el año escolar 2025-26! La inscripción para nuevos estudiantes comenzó el martes 1 de abril y continuará durante todo el verano. Se recomienda a las familias que se inscriban en la escuela correspondiente a la zona en que el estudiante vive o en línea a través del sitio web del distrito.
Para dar inicio a la temporada de inscripción y matriculación escolar, se invita a las familias a asistir al Evento de Inscripción PreK y Feria de Recursos para la Primera Infancia de LISD el sábado 5 de abril, de 9 a. m. a 1 p. m. en el Centro de Conferencias LEO. Esta feria brindará a las familias del distrito que tienen estudiantes de PreK entrantes la oportunidad de inscribirse para el año escolar 2025-26, además de presentarles los recursos de la comunidad y del distrito

#1LISD Celebra el Mes del Arte Juvenil
Dos estudiantes de Leander ISD seleccionados para la exposición del Mes del Arte Juvenil de la Asociación de Educación Artística de Texas
Dos estudiantes de Leander ISD expusieron sus obras de arte en el Museo Bob Bullock de Austin durante el mes de marzo para la Exposición del Mes del Arte Juvenil de la Asociación de Educación Artística de Texas.
Vanessa Bonilla García, de Rouse HS, y Kambry Jackson, de Glenn HS, fueron seleccionadas por el Departamento de Bellas Artes del LISD para representar al distrito en la exposición, que mostraba obras de arte de estudiantes de todo el estado. Bonilla García y Jackson fueron galardonadas por sus logros en una ceremonia de entrega de premios el 9 de marzo.
«En nombre de Leander ISD y de la oficina de bellas artes, felicito a Vanessa y a Kambry por sus destacados logros en el Mes del Arte Juvenil», dijo Megan Liles, directora de artes visuales y escénicas de LISD. «Su dedicación, pasión y visión encarnan el espíritu de expresión artística que hace de marzo un momento especial para reconocer el poder de la creatividad juvenil. Estos premios reflejan no solo su arduo trabajo, sino también el potencial de nuestros jóvenes para dar forma al futuro del arte».
LISD organiza la exposición de arte del distrito para mostrar el talento artístico de los estudiantes
Para cerrar el Mes del Arte Juvenil y mostrar la amplia gama de talento artístico en todo #1LISD, el distrito organizó su exposición anual de arte el sábado 29 de marzo en Vandegrift HS.
Cientos de piezas creadas por nuestros propios estudiantes de Leander ISD, desde la escuela primaria hasta la preparatoria, se exhibieron para que las familias, el personal y la comunidad las disfrutaran.
¡Gracias a todos los que vinieron a apoyar a nuestros talentosos artistas, y felicitaciones a los estudiantes cuyos trabajos se presentaron en el espectáculo!
Los servicios vocacionales de Leander ISD organizan la primera feria de empleo inversa
En un singular cambio de roles, 14 empleadores asistieron a la primera Feria de Empleo Inversa de Servicios Vocacionales de Leander ISD, donde estudiantes con discapacidades mostraron sus habilidades de empleabilidad durante entrevistas in situ.
La feria de empleo, que fue posible gracias a una subvención de LEEF, contó con la participación de 26 estudiantes de todas las escuelas preparatorias tradicionales del distrito. «El objetivo de esta feria es que nuestros estudiantes consigan un empleo», dijo Denise Geiger, coordinadora de transición del LISD. «Nos complació mucho escuchar de los empleadores que asistieron a la feria que los logros de nuestros talentosos estudiantes los inspiraron y que les encantaría contratarlos a todos».

Leander ISD celebra la inauguración de la clínica Frontier Direct
Leander ISD se enorgullece de asociarse con Frontier Direct Care para ofrecer servicios de atención primaria directa a precios más bajos y sin tiempos de espera, exclusivamente para los empleados de LISD. La clínica Frontier Direct Care, ubicada en 11840 Hero Way, Suite #200, Leander, TX 78641, celebró su gran inauguración el 10 de marzo.
