Senior Ayla Murphy from Rouse High School is the Leander ISD Career and Technical Education (CTE) Student of the Week.
Ayla is the president of FCCLA at Rouse and has doubled the organization’s membership during the 2023-24 school year. She placed in the top 10 in a national FCCLA competition last summer. For two years she has interned in the performing arts department at Pleasant Hill Elementary and has taken the lead in writing, choreographing and composing performances including the first grade show, Rumble in the Jungle, and the spring theme show for the preschoolers.
Ayla’s mentor teacher at Pleasant Hill, Jennifer Arnold, said that the Pleasant Hill Huskies love Ayla.
“Ayla has been a huge asset in our Performing Arts room for two years now,” Arnold said. “She does an incredible job of connecting with the students and getting to know their individual needs and personalities. She is caring and compassionate while holding high expectations of all our performers.”
