Extra, extra! Read all about her! This week’s Leander ISD Career & Technical Education (CTE) Student of the Week Morgan Kasel IS #SomeGoodNews!
For the past two years, the Cedar Park High School senior has helped run The Wolfpack Newspaper as assistant editor. In addition to editing her peer’s articles daily, Morgan preps articles to post to the news website, www.cphswolfpack.com. Even more so she researches and conducts interviews to write her own articles.
As a result of Morgan’s talent and hard work, Quill & Scroll named her a National Winner for her article “From Hands-on to Cameras On”. The entry won in the Pandemic Coverage category. For the 2021 International Writing, Photo and Multimedia contest, students from all over the world submitted more than 2,500 entries in different writing categories. Judges subsequently chose more than 320 students named as National Winners. Because of this achievement, Morgan qualifies for a scholarship.
“Morgan has a smile that lights up the room–or this year–the Zoom screen! She is patient and kind with her classmates when she edits their work, but is also tough on them to make sure they are working to their potential,” Paige Hert, Cedar Park HS Newspaper Adviser, said.
“She is great at meeting deadlines and is always willing to step up and help if she needs to. I am lucky to have had her in class the past few years. So has the rest of the newspaper staff, a great role model. I am so excited to see her article place in a national contest because she really deserves the recognition for her hard work.”
Here’s a gal with all the issues! Congratulations Morgan Kasel, LISD CTE Student of the Week!
