Leander ISD is proud to announce Vandegrift High School senior Greyson Powell as the district’s Career and Technical Education (CTE) Student of the Week.
Greyson is the district’s first student to take the Practicum in Business Management. A CTE practicum combines classroom learning with real-world application, a process that has confirmed for Greyson his desire to major in business and to become an actuary.
“Greyson has networked with industry professionals, attended actuarial society workshops and even uses class time to study for one of many actuarial exams required of the profession,” VHS DECA advisor Kari Michalek said. “[His] curiosity and motivation to learn will yield him success as an LSU Tiger and as a future actuary.”
