The Long-Range Planning Committee (LRPC) was charged with developing a ten-year facilities plan, focused on student learning and anchored in our core beliefs that take into consideration the following criteria:
- student access to learning experiences that interest them
- facility optimization
- fiscal responsibility
- changes in population over time
The first step in this plan (Secondary Attendance Zoning) is well underway and four in-person forums have already been conducted with one virtual forum scheduled tonight, Feb. 28 at 6:30 on Zoom. We have added two additional forum dates to the calendar for the second iteration of the attendance zoning discussion, Tuesday, March 21 at Cedar Park Middle School and Monday, March 27 at Glenn High School.
As we are working through the secondary attendance zoning process for our schools in the central and north end of the district, we want to also provide the opportunity to hear from our community with regards to our 10-year Long Range Plan. As this is a plan that is looked at annually and adjustments can be made, now is the time to start the conversations for the next steps in the process.
Join us Monday, March 6 at Vandegrift High School from 6:30 – 8 p.m. to learn more, ask questions and provide input regarding our 10-year Long-Range Plan.
