Leander ISD is excited to welcome Alison Pennington to the role of Principal at Reagan Elementary School after the Board approved the position at Thursday’s meeting.
“Alison is an accomplished instructional leader who values partnerships with staff, students and families. Through these partnerships, Alison works to create a welcoming environment for everyone who enters the building,” Superintendent Bruce Gearing, Ed.D., said. “With her passion for serving as a Reagan Ray, Alison will undoubtedly lead Reagan into an exciting future.”
Pennington has served as an assistant principal at Reagan Elementary since 2021 and was an assistant principal at Four Points Middle School from 2016-2021. She began her time in Leander ISD in 2014 as an Instructional Support Specialist at Canyon Ridge Middle School. Before that, she served in Round Rock ISD, where she taught history at Deerpark Middle School and completed an administrative internship.
“I am honored to serve our Reagan community in the role of Principal. Having been a part of this community for the last two years, I am thrilled to be entrusted in continuing the wonderful work being done at Reagan,” Pennington said. “I am excited to partner with our community, staff and students as we continue to bring student experiences to the forefront of learning.”
Pennington completed a Bachelor of Arts in Education at Texas Christian University in Fort Worth. She went on to receive her Master of Education in Educational Leadership at Texas State University in San Marcos. Additionally, she completed the LISD Prospective Principal Program in 2020.
