Leander ISD welcomes Shelley Roberts to the role of principal at Tarvin Elementary School.

Superintendent Bruce Gearing, Ed.D., said that Roberts is an exceptional educator who possesses deep care and enthusiasm for her students, staff and community.

“As principal of Nancy Tarvin Elementary, Shelley will continue her leadership journey while supporting the campus’s vision of inquiry-based instruction,” Gearing said. “I truly value Shelley’s loyal service to Leander ISD and look forward to witnessing the trails that she and the staff of Tarvin will blaze.”

Roberts has served Leander ISD for nearly 20 years. She comes to Tarvin from River Ridge Elementary, where she has served as principal since 2016, previously serving as an assistant principal at Laura W. Bush Elementary starting in 2004. “I am incredibly grateful and honored to be named principal of Nancy Tarvin Elementary,” Roberts said. “I am eager to partner with the staff, students and parents to continue to empower our Trailblazers to be creators, collaborators, problem seekers and solvers, curious learners, advocates and communicators. I look forward to our journey together!”

Roberts completed both a Bachelor of Liberal Arts degree and a Master of Education degree at The University of Texas at Austin. She is a Texas Certified Teacher and has completed a Texas Principal Certification.
