Four Leander ISD marching bands – Rouse, Cedar Park, Leander and Glenn high schools – crowded the Top 5 of UIL 5A Area H Marching Contest Saturday, Oct. 28, at DW Rutledge Stadium in Judson ISD.

The area contest consisted of two rounds, with 21 bands competing in prelims, 10 advancing to finals and the Top 4 finalists advancing to the UIL State Marching Band Contest. Rouse took home the top prize by placing 1st in prelims and being named UIL 5A Area H Champion with a 1st-place finish in finals. Right behind them was Cedar Park, Leander and Glenn, which respectively finished 2nd, 3rd and 5th.

Rouse, Cedar Park and Leander will compete in the State Marching Band Contest Nov. 6–7 at the Alamodome in San Antonio among 35 bands from across the state. The Top 12 bands from prelims will advance to the finals Tuesday, Nov. 7.

All of Leander ISD’s bands made their schools and the district proud by performing at the highest level! With Area Contests complete, by combining 5A and 6A results, no other district in Texas can claim the amount of state-level representation as Leander ISD with five high schools advancing. Way to go, #1LISD!
