Adapted Physical Education Teacher and Lazers Special Olympics Coach Liz Ayers is the Leander ISD Staff Spotlight of the Week.
Liz has dedicated her teaching career to Leander ISD as an Elementary Teacher, Elementary PE Teacher and Adapted PE Teacher. As she winds down her teaching career, she continues to serve this district with energy, kindness and passion. Liz is a master of dumpster diving and repurposing trash in order to create wonderful equipment for her students.
Adapted Physical Education Lead Kelly McMahan said that Liz embodies Leander ISD’s 10 Ethical Principles, but the one that stands out is her concern for others.
“Liz shares her ideas and treasure trove of equipment with colleagues and staff. She goes above and beyond to get to know each student in order to best meet needs,” McMahan said. “Mention the name Liz Ayers to anyone in the district who has worked with her, and you will hear wonderful, wonderful things – all of which are true!”
