Reed Elementary School has been recertified as a Leader in Me Lighthouse School, a distinctive honor which recognizes the school’s continued growth and innovation within the Leader in Me framework.
“Reed is a stellar example of what happens when leadership is a core paradigm and everyone works together to achieve success. I am incredibly proud to lead this school and witness the leadership potential of each and every learner in our community,” Reed Principal Paige Collier said. “Our students and staff live our mission: to develop a community of leaders for a better world.”
The Lighthouse Recertification Review is an assessment process for schools to reflect and celebrate their accomplishments since receiving their original Lighthouse Certification. To earn the Lighthouse Certification, schools must demonstrate growth and innovation within the Leader in Me Framework, be evaluated by certified Franklin Covey reviewers and implement a continuous process of school improvement.
Reed Elementary opened as a Leader in Me School in 2014, and became Lighthouse certified in 2020. Leander ISD’s Rutledge Elementary and Reed Elementary are also certified Lighthouse and Leader in Me schools.
Reed and Westside Elementary were selected as showcase schools for the Austin Leader in Me Symposium held in February.
