From March 6-10, Leander ISD is showing appreciation to our district’s excellent educational diagnosticians through the celebration of Texas Educational Diagnosticians Week.
Educational diagnosticians undergo specialized training to use academic and psychological tests to isolate factors that could enhance students’ performance in the classroom. These professionals help provide the next generation of leaders with the knowledge and skills that are the building blocks of lifelong excellence by developing and recommending teaching strategies and materials.
Lead Educational Diagnostician Susan Neil, M.Ed., said that she would like to take this opportunity to recognize and thank the Educational Diagnosticians who are part of the LISD Special Programs Evaluation Team.
“Our evaluators work diligently to conduct initial and ongoing reevaluations that accurately identify student’s aptitude, learning style and need, along with meeting state mandated timelines,” Neil said. “Educational Diagnosticians, along with the rest of our evaluation team members, have an integral role in the development of best practices which guide policies at the campus and district level. We appreciate their dedication to our students, families and district.”
According to Neil, the LISD evaluation teams have conducted 972 Initial Evaluations so far this school year.
